Does anyone know if it's possible to run a 18650 battery in a Surefire G2?
(Stock length,no extenders..)

I'll be running it with a Malkoff M61L dropin.

(I'd rather not have to deal with having 2 CR213A batteries.)

Nope. You cant run a 18650 since the G2 has a metal liner and cannot even be bored to accept one. But you can run a 17670 cell in it. That's close enough for your intent.

Thanks.I wasn't sure what battery was what.

What inexpensive charger would work with 17670 batteries?

For cheap, get the multi-chemistry Nitecore i4/i2 v.2, or the Xtar WP2 II , or for a bit more, get the Xtar WP2s, or for a bit more, get the Xtar VP1 or the new Xtar VP2.

The same decent charger as you'd use for the 18650s is fine.

Thanks.Just ordered the Nitecore i4 from Amazon.com for $17.50 shipped.

As I've said in another post, I'm not a huge fan of 'all-in-wonder' multi-chem chargers, but I did put my money where my mouth is and bought an i4 v.2 a couple of weeks back and it's doing a decent job, never overcharging (>4.20v) my li-ion cells and on the dozen NiMH batteries, it didn't miss a termination, even though the charging rate of 375mA was below that .3C minimum threshold that Maha likes to stay above.

And it can run in your car, or on 12v solar, if you get an adapter.

Bizarrely,my G2 is dimmer on the 17670 than with 2 CR123A.

Quite irritated.I thought I'd be able to stop using my CR123A batteries in my G2.
