Anyone taken a CMG Sonic apart?

Where is the boost circuit--at the head near the LED, or in the removable tail part? Is the LED itself potted? If the LED is accessible, I have an idea for a mod. Thanks.

I'm no modder, but the circuit's definitely at the head. There's nothing in the tailcap except for a spring... Hope it helps...

I just took a look at my Sonic, and I agree. The circuitry must be in the head, because there's only a spring and a metal washer in the tailpiece, and the Sonic turns on if I remove the tailpiece and shove a knife blade in the barrel.

i had a pefect mod idea for one of those fugly things, i'll give you a clue, i used a 20Lb sledge hammer.
that thing was perfect after...
(the electronics are in the head)
