I need a 18650 confused which kind?

Currently I have 2 pink Sanyo s for my pd35 I'd like to get more maybe Panasonic. There's so many do I want a ncr18650a? Cgr1860? Etc... I know I want it protect ed but I don't know which ones work in a pd35 and solar force and Malakoff lights

I use Panny NCR18650B in my Solarforce and Malkoff with no problem at all. The longer protected cells will offer you peace of mind and they fit. I don't know about the PD35 though. Plus they fit in my bored Surefires!

Panasonic NCR A's & B's are for standard flashlight applications. The CGR series is for extreme high current applications like the hand held HIDs, 10A+ current drain.

However I'd go for the 3400mah NCRB's, they are 10% higher energy density than the 3100mah NCRA's.

I use Nitecore batteries, no issue with the fit in Malkoff or Solarforce hosts.

What's a reasonable price for one?

+1 for Nitecore,use them in my Fenix 32 and 35.

You should be able to find NCR18650A's for less than $10 each for unprotected, slightly more the the NCR18650B, and protected generally adds a dollar or two per cell. If you buy protected, make sure the cell will fit in your flashlight. Protected cells are longer than unprotected cells by several millimeters. The longest protected cells are just shy of 70mm long, whereas the unprotected are generally 65mm. Avoid any cell with a **Fire brand name like the plague.

The NCR18650, NCR18650A, NCR18650B, NCR18650... is the Panasonic name for their cells. The guy adding the protection can use the same name or make a new name.

Remember protection is never made by Panasonic, but always by somebody else and some of these guys wants to be anonymous.

I like the IMR sony VTC5. they are hard to get at the moment though

Vapers are buying them up....seemingly as fast as they can be stocked by a vendor!!(Noticed you sig....As a fellow vaper, I sympathize.....!!)
For my TORCHES....the Panny NCR18650B is IMHO a "go-to"....scored a pair of these (button-top) on FleaBay for $23, SHIPPED!!
