Default Test/Review of Eneloop AAA BK-4HCC 900mAh (Black)

    Eneloop AAA BK-4HCC 900mAh (Black)

    Official specifications:
    • Type: Nickel-Metal Hydride Battery
    • Size : AAA Consumer Type
    • Typical capacity: 950mAh
    • Minimum capacity: 900mAh
    • Nominal voltage: 1.2V
    • Fast Charging Current: 950 mA
    • Charge condition: 0C - 40C
    • Discharge condition: 0C - 50C
    • Internal Impedance: Approx. 40mOhm(at 1000Hz)
    • Weight: Approx. 13 g
    • Size (Diameter) x (Height): 10.5(D) x 44.5(H) mm

    Maximum temperature raise at different discharge currents: 1A:+2,1C, 2A:+5,0C, 3A:+8,3C, 5A:+12,1C, 7A:+9,9C
This is the high capacity version of eneloop AAA battery.

The battery does very fine up to 1 or 2A, but 5A is definitely to much.

    Conclusion

This is the first AAA NiMH battery I have tested and I cannot say anything about performance compared to other NiMH AAA batteries.

THQ HKJ for another useful review.

I bought a blister pack consisting in 4 batteries. They are made in Japan in February, 2014. The code is BK-4HCCE (I don't know what the final letter "E" means, is it for European market?).

After BreakIn and three cycles in Maha MH-C9000, available capacities are:
    1. 930mAh
    2. 936mAh
    3. 945mAh
    4. 934mAh

I use them in Olight I3S EOS (I have 3 of them).

I think I have a previous generation. They were called Sanyo XX High Capacity Eneloop Ni-MH 1.2V 900mAH. Don't have the code handy but it is 500 cycles. Just used one in a DQG IV but that isn't too taxing on the batteries.

Excellent test reveiw as always. HKJ! Thank you.

The trace curves between two cells are not consistent (i.e., large different) in discharge curve with constant power.
I think it will not be an issue in using the cells in series, as these are Ni-Mh cells.

For a noob, how do I interpret your conclusion? Are you saying other AAA NiMh have similar performance (like the Amazon AAA rechargeables for $16 for an 8 pack)? Thanks.

No, as I wrote above it is the first AAA batteries I have tested, this makes it difficult to draw any conclusion compared to other AAA batteries.

Ok cool, thanks. The AAA options that appear to be the more main stream are:

    Panasonic BK-4MCCA8BA Eneloops = $18 for 8 (min 750mah)
    AmazonBasics = $16 for 8 (min 750mah)
EBLs (which supposedly have min 1000mah) = $14

Trying to figure out what would be best.

Wow I just found your full 18650 chart review. That is amazing. Thank you. I hope you'll be able to look at AAAs and AAs as millions of people use these types. Very cool.

I do also have a chart with AA/AAA cells: http://lygte-info.dk/review/batterie...comparator.php and I will add one more to that list today.
Mainly my test is LiIon, but sometimes I do also test other batteries and I do have a couple of AA/AAA test data that I need to make into reviews.

My favorite batteries are eneloops and other brands made on the FDK factory in Japan (I.e. same performance as eneloop).

Perfect! Do you have a summary chart on these tests to ranks them all next to one another (that way I can see who's got the most capacity). Thanks.

No and the comparison chart for 18650 is not complete either. The problem is I have made to many test to fit them in on chart. Some day I hope to get time for making a new script that will split the comparison into multiple charts.

No, but I often get batteries for "free", i.e. I do seldom pay for the batteries I test.
It is the same for the chargers, I only buy a few of them.

Usual I add a line at the bottom of the review when I get stuff for free, but sometimes I forget it (It is often easy to figure out anyway, if I post a couple of reviews for a brand and one of them is missing that line, it is because I forgot it, not because I paid for that single item).
