Not to sound like a burro, but that first link makes it seem like the writer has no idea what they are talking about...and the second link is contingent on the first, so...I'm thinking that this r and d hasn't undergone much peer review yet.

I'm not sure why you guys are so quick to shoot this down. They're not talking about a laser that is 250x more efficient but a laser that can be driven at much lower power levels and is slightly more efficient.
