I've been observing the Cree LED A shape bulbs on display in some of the light fixtures in the lighting display area at Home Depot. Some now have 4000-5000 hours on them. Has anyone noticed them creeping up towards a higher color temperature over time? Some look to be in the 3000K-3500K range. The ones that seem to have color shifted were all lit base up in partially enclosed fixtures. I've not seen this problem in those operated base down or in totally open fixtures regardless of operating position. Wouldn't this be an overheating problem.

As the phosphors burn, wouldn't they degrade slightly, leading to a rise in color temperature? (BTW Kestral, I've got a cree 2700k xml t4 that looks kind of weird when projected against a white wall. There are blotches of orangey-red)
