A while back I posted about my LSL-P that had died after much use and abuse.
I recently finished building a drop-in sandwich for the LS using a Madmax WO,a pre 1983 US penny flattened and smoothed(solid copper) a Lux 3 emitter and Fraen LP optics.Much brighter and whiter than the old setup though I suspect the runtime will be alot shorter.
It gets hot quickly if you don't hold onto it but increased brightness is worth it.
BTW I also modified my incandescent head for my E2E to use this sandwich running 1 battery and a dummy.Very nice but ends up being a flood.This mod is backward compatible so the old MN bulb can be used if you put 3 thick o-rings under it.
