Here is some more technical info on how the sphere works



The sphere was built using match's build guide here. Click Here

Once the sphere is built you need to measure the readings of a good group of lights with known outputs. Nitecore, Olight, zebralight etc are all good options as they use ANSI values for their outputs and no fake "OMG 4000 lumen" off one single XML T6. After taking around 20 measurements of different lights and comparing the readings to the output we can establish a correction factor.

For example:

After establishing an average of many lights you can then use that "corrective factor" on unknown lights.

For example:

x60vn - reading of 50600 taken at 30 sec

50600 / 7.66365 (average corrective factor) = 6603 lumens :)

Outstanding work mate! You can be our verifier of actual lumens from these excellent lights- the performance of the MM15vn speaks well of what we might expect from the X60mvn- 10,000 lumens may well be possible! Thank you for your hard work!

Just saw your charger. :wow: what brand is that?

the light meter goes into a smaller port on the back of the sphere behind a baffle (so that only indirect light reaches it and the readings are not skewed by any direct light hitting the sensor)

that charger in the pic is a maha c808 nimh charger

i really have too many chargers lol... i have the ability to charge 40 18650 at once lol.
