My dear Mother has been feeding my flashlight frenzy for years with unique lights from various catalog sources. This Christmas she gave me a tiny Brookstone Microbeam keychain light. It's surprisingly small and as bright or brighter than an Arc AAA - initially anyway, so far. It has two lithium coin cells and is assembled with screws. It's really small so I put it on my keychain and carry the Arc AAA in another pocket now.

The Microbeam has impressed me so far and I searched for more info but found little posted. Anybody know the manufacturer or other specs on this product? Do the dual coin cells have sufficient internal resistance that no dropping resistor is needed?

It's expensive at $20 so I wouldn't buy one myself. Compared to cheaper lights of this catagory how does this stack up? Thanks for any replies.
