Re: Titanium for trade............

I do like the bead-blasted 2-piece Tain Hyperlux.

A couple of questions:-

1) Does it have any wear on it from carrying it?

2) Who did the upgrade from XM-L to XM-L2? Is it just an led swap or is it a different driver?

Chip, you really should look into getting some nicer lights. :poke:

WOW! Those are some super fine units right there. I say we do a GB for the whole lot! Then we can pass them around and take turns ewing & ahhhing over them. lol

On the 2 piece SFIII by Tain with XM-L2, 6 trit switch, value $1100: what is the bezel? It looks darker than the rest of the light?

It's a titanium one that has been coated. It also comes with the origional smooth bezel.

Re: Titanium for trade............

To avoid confusion, although the lights by Tain are very similar in appearance to MJ's SFIIIs, they should be referred to as Hyperluxes. This is one of the conditions that Chris of TNC made in order for the very limited production run by Tain to be approved.

Of all the many beautiful Titanium lights that have passed through my hands, my Tain's Hyperluxes are the ones that I'd still be holding in the throes of rigor mortis. Tain's superb machinist built these lights to absolute perfection.

"And maybe these." What are these? ( maker/model/battery size and price?)

i like titanium, a lot. My wedding ring is Ti. Most of my camping gear is too.

You have an exquisite collection worthy of a place in the flashoholic's hall of fame.

My wife keeps me logical with two children (one here one on the way). $1000 for a flashlight I can pass down in my will when i die, isn't required at this point. ( I work part-time).

again kudos on the Ti collection.

Cheers,

Joe
