Anyone using these? I saw the 60w review in another thread. I'm interested in what the 3000K temp looks like compared to the usual 2700 warm whites. I really want a 4000K but can't find any - at least at a decent price.

I saw these at Lowes for about $17.

The 100W equiv. Cree 2700K was too warm for me. Actually, not even "warm" but rather plain yellow. But the 40 and 60w seem OK to me. Frustrating!

I've been running two of those as porch lights that run dusk till dawn since November 2012 and they seem not to have lost any noticeable lumens, and the color temp is very close to a clear halogen bulb, very little yellow

Thanks for the info. I want to replace some incandescents in my basement. 6 fixtures really eat up the power! I may get one of these to try before replacing all of them.

Not sure where you live, but in WA state there are still a few places that sell Switch 100w 4000K bulbs for <$10. I bought several, I do agree that 4000K is a great color. We use 'em in the utility room and garage. While I do like 2700K and 3000K, I don't like 5000K. Too bad about the demise of Switch!
