Just saw the Jetbeam HC20 headlamp. 800 lumens, XM-L2 T6, Inexpensive, less than $35 - and even comes with a 18650! Over-temperature limiting, and can insert battery in either direction.

Drawbacks to me:
- Apparently no CR123 support, only mentions 18650 and nothing about voltage range.
- No low - "low" is 70 lumens.
- The squarish LED part looks like it extends out quite a bit, looks like it might bounce or rotate down in use.
- Has an electronic switch, wondering what parasitic drain is.

I've been told it bounces hard.
And it's pretty ugly ;)

But the price is good...

Price is indeed good. But no moonlight mode, plus a weight/length that will be tough to manage without the top strap....

Looks like it comes with a battery? That's a good price. If used as a work headlamp, then the lack of a low mode is OK. It looks like something you could throw at somebody and cause some real damage. Jetbeam should have marketed it as tactical headlamp. LOL

I just purchased one of these, I did not buy it to run, play swat or what ever tactical means to you. I got it to work on machines in somewhat dark areas and still maintain the use of both hands. I purchased it because it was durable, had a long battery life and a top strap was included.

I am completely happy with the lite! I would and will do it again.
