My Dad had 2 of these. I used the best parts from both and a M@G bulb to resurrect one of them. The other had a meltdown, and I'm thinking about doing a "junkyard build" on it with a bunch of old emitters I picked up.
I have a large aluminum heatsink to mount the LED boards to.

Just want it in a massive mule type setup with a

LUX3 in the center and 4 XR-E, 4 XP-G alternating in a circle around the LUX3

I don't want it to be a super bright light, just a general area light my parents might use at their camper.

The light can be configured for 3-4, or 6-7 D cells.

is this even possible?

I'm not worried about efficiencies or economics of the build. just looking to play around with what I have, and buy a driver(s) that will work for this.

thoughts?

Here's a link to a sample of the light in question if you are not familiar:

There are plenty drivers at MTNelectronics that can take 2~3 li-on cells and a couple emitters.

I personally, would just put in a single MTG2 6V variant with FET 5 mode driver that MTNelectronics sells. That FET driver is Direct Drive with 5 modes by the way. I personally ran it with MTG2 and it worked perfect and awesome in a 6D and 7D Maglite with NiNH D cells, but I presume Alkaline D cells would work too.....

Best,
