Re: EC11vn - What you think?

email sent for an upgrade possibility for my stock ec11 :)

the stock light on turbo does over 1100 OTF at turn on - drops to around 950 @ 30 sec - quite bright for just a stock light, but yes... its needs the vinh treatment of a nicer tint emitter, copper hs, and perhaps MOAR lumen on turbo :)

Re: EC11vn - What you think?

These are my impressions as a STOCK light.

I think it is a very powerful "STOCK" light that gets VERY hot and could use more/better heat sinking!

I would STRONGLY suggest to get the ADDED HEAT SINKING for anyone who wants to use this light on TURBO for more than 1.5 to 2.0 minutes! Very,very difficult to hold it in your hand to the 3 minute step down!My last TURBO run time test I used my Polartec gloves to turn it off at step down!!!

Tint improvement would be a bonus. I believe ADDITIONAL heat sinking is a necessity!

I knew you could do this Vinh. My swap offer just was not good enough! lol! :poke:

Re: EC11vn - What you think?

SORRY,,,,,,I FORGOT A FEW THINGS!

JUST SO THERE IS NO CONFUSION. THESE ARE STOCK NUMBERS AND STOCK PICTURES OF THE EC11 TO GIVE YOU SOME IDEA FOR THOSE WHO DO NOT HAVE THE STOCK VERSION AND ARE INTERESTED IN IMPROVING IT WITH A VINH MOD!

JUSTIN DID A QUICK OUTPUT TEST. I AM SURE HE WILL SHARE THOSE NUMBERS WITH THOSE WHO WOULD LIKE TO KNOW.

This is STOCK version run time/voltage test.Hopefully this will help some of you. The run times are not long and will obviously be shorter w/ a mod.

Solution: Have at least Two[2] 18350 IMR's. I have Four! Two AW IMR 18350 800mAh "BT" and Two[2] Efest IMR 18350 700mAh BT.

A guy on BLF successfully used Efest IMR Flat top 18350. I would stick w/ Button tops.

BATTERY: EFEST IMR "PURPLE" 18350 700 mAh.

TURBO OUTPUT -I DID 3 MINUTE INCREMENTS[THAT IS THE STEP DOWN] W/ ABOUT 4 MINUTES OF REST IN BETWEEN.

TAIL STAND/NO FAN/LOFT TEMP. WAS 74F/23.3C.

STARTING VOLTAGE:4.20V************************* I actually used my stop watch on my phone app! STEP DOWN WAS EXACTLY 3 MIN. 7.7 SEC.!!!:laughing:

@3 MIN= 3.90V
@6 MIN=3.74V
@9 MIN=3.64V
@12 MIN=3.50V

EDIT: I FEEL THIS NEXT PART IS IMPORTANT. I WAS CERTAINLY CAUGHT OFF GUARD DURING THE FINAL 2 MIN 10 SEC.

I decided to try for 3 more minutes. After an additional 2 min. 10 sec. the light stepped down to medium or low! I immediately checked w/ the DMM and it was @ 2.28v!!
eek.gif
Needless to say when I tested my second Efest IMR 18350 I stopped at 12 minutes. Both batteries tested exactly the same.

The EFEST IMR 16340 RAN FOR 15 MINUTES[3 MIN. INCREMENTS] AND WAS @ 3.50V .It did not get as hot and certainly did not push the light quite as hard.

Re: EC11vn - What you think?

What do I think? I wasn't interested with light at first, but admittedly I am now. Money is always an issue these days, but yes I would be interested in getting one from you if you do these. I can't commit to it though.

Edit: The more I look at this light the more I like it. What a little beast!

Re: EC11vn - What you think?

Vinh is there enough material on the housing to mill out and install an N52 rated magnet? If this light had a decent magnet it would be perfect

How does the triple look? and if we wanted maximum throw would the triple xpg2 throw as far as a single xpg2 or which LED would give the most throw? most lumens or flood? and do these come dedomed?
