The RJ Thrower

Video Click Here

My friend Richard over at mtelectronics has recently gifted me this light before he moved out of the state. Love the light but he will be missed for sure!

This light came to life by the work of 2 person:
Justin AKA OldLumen who built the host and Richard who does the electronics. A great thanks to these incredibly talented individuals :)

I was able to talk Oldlumen to build me 5 more of these "RJ" thrower as above :). This light is now the JJRV
They all look similar to the light above.
All light will have CW XHP70 and DriverVNX2 to be driven on 4 18650 high drains
Driver gets thermal padding
As you know the light is an incredible thrower as shown in the video above.
It's also something quite limited, custom, and special :)
Free dome shave if you want it
Light will have serial mark as "X/5"

Credits:
Dr. Jones: DriverVNX2 programming
Justin/Old Lumen: Host builder
Richard: Circuit production
Vinh: Electronic assembly & Cosmetic addition.

Price is $245 for light as shown above

A) + $100 if you want T-Rex cosmetic application to the entire light
B) + $75 if you want entire light sand blast then lightly polished for a more custom aluminum look
C) + $100 for your design

I needed to use express mail so i would get it before i go on vacation. it was dropped of by Vinh yesterday at 1pm and was delivered here on the east coast at 11:50am today. if you subtract the 3 hours time loss it took 18 hours and 50 minutes to arrive at my door. thats pretty fast. not to mention it only cost $20 bucks which i think is cheap for express mail.

But the best part of it all was Vinhs packing Job. It was like packception opening the light !!!

Great light Vinh! :)

Justin (Old-Lumens) is like the grandfather of flashlight modding. Love his builds, especially his modded Mags. And his instructional videos.

And Richard is like the benefactor of all modders. And provider of all manner of flashlight paraphernalia :p

That is a special 'dream-team' light that you have there. Love the ginormous head SkyRay aesthetics of the light.

Wow that's cool! The reflector looks like it was machined from a tractor piston! Haha

How does this throw compared to the k60vn and tk61vn50 ?

Tk61vn50 will out throw this light for sure.

No K60vn in stock to compare but I do think this light outthrow the K60vn while pushing similar lumen due to similar driver but the RRJV larger and smoother reflector.

103500 lux @ 1 meter was what I got on the original one, but I am sure Vinh's mods would increase that mark. it may not sound so much, but it's amazing to hit that kind of number, considering the beam is quite a bit larger than the sensor, at one meter. It really is a big beam thrower.

Earlier in this thread there was a statement that Richard (of mntelectronics) moved out of state. Hope Mntelectronics stays in business! A friend of mine ordered some batteries weeks ago and hasn't received anything. Also incognito on Emails.
