Found it on amazon for 13 bucks, it says it charges many types of batteries, seems pretty cool for being usb also.

Too good to be true?

I'd like to believe, but for 13 bucks it's likely to be junk if HKJ's past reviews of cheap chargers are any guide.

The best USB-powered chargers I've ever seen for AA / AAA NiMH cells are the Sanyo NC-MDU01 and its successor, the Panasonic BQ-CC14 (HKJ review here). Unfortunately, the NC-MDU01 is no longer produced, and the BQ-CC14 is extremely difficult to obtain.

I have the NC-MDU01 and I've been keeping an eye out for the BQ-CC14, because I could do with a couple of spares.

Too rich for my blood right now, but there you go.

For emergencies needing NiMH and USB, I'm playing with the Xtar XP1 and a Subkingdom 14w high output solar panel. Only 1 slot, but oh well at <$9.00.

I just ordered this one on ebay "eBay item number: 371148122893" it is very cheap and cheaper for a few hours more US $5.77, from what reviews i have read it does a good job.

Normal delivery is 15-30 days as with most things from china/hong-kong.

John.
