I'm considering either purchasing 16650s for my P2X Fury or having it bored for 18650s. However, I can't find anywhere if 16650s will also work in an LX2 Lumamax, and if they do, I'd most likely just go with 16650s all around and forego the boring.

Has anyone tried 16650 to see if they'll fit in a Lumamax? If they won't fit, what do you recommend as an alternative?

I use mine with an AW 17650 without any problem. Had to sand the light body out a little bit to fit the battery in. The 16650 should fit without any modification.

I regularly use protected KeepPower16650s in my LX2 and other E-Series bodies. They are all too narrow at the tail section for AW protected 17670s (which have a lower capacity, so it's no big loss).

Ordered some Keeppower 16650s earlier today. Very excited to get them. Very glad to know also they fit in the Lumamax.

The L2X and E-series bodies its Ok.
The 16650 with 2000mAh (I had 12 of them, and sold everything), have a diameter greater than the version 2500 .
I use the KeepPower 16650 2500 in my G2 too (Black, Desert Tan, Od Green - with Malkoff´s Dropin). I dont know why, but the all G2 Nitrolon I have here, new, not fit the AW 17670.

The protected Keeppower 16650s do NOT fit in my LX2. I was quite surprised about that. Fit fine in my P2X Fury though. Bummer...

These will fit and work. I have an LX2 and the older version of these cells my self.
You will have the same output, but less runtime compared to disposables. Probably about 20 minutes or so on full ( 200 lm )

Thanks for the link. It's not that big of a deal for me as I was mainly wanting a rechargeable option for my Fury. I like my LX2, but it'll probably only see a role as an emergency light with primaries anyway. It's a great light, but for its output relative to its size and weight, I have some preferred options over the LX2.
