    Name Letter Level # Power
    Miliwatts Lumens Runtime Stretchtime
    red R 6 tbd
    dim D 1 0.005% 1.5 0.18 tbd

    1. runtime: 800mah 18350 with stretch turned off and 2.8v battery protection on
stretchtime: 800mah 18350 with stretch on, declining at 3.2 and stopping at 2.8
stretch combines [continuous output level] + [gradually declinding output]
for larger cells, divide mah by 800 (3400/800 = 4.25), then multiply by [time]
    2. values for initial settings, channels can be changed or disabled
values are for XPL, 219B values are less (21w max)
    3. lumens: rated from the LED, at 25C. OTF will be less
    4. to maximize longevity, change your cells at 3.2 (when stretch starts to dim)

    D) Serial Number

    1. Put your light into programming mode (2+2+2+ON)
    2. Wait and watch the dim red light
    3. Count the bright red flashes, grouped into six digits (repeats: 123456, 123456, 123456)
    4. Open this page, enter the digits, and click Check:

    5. Read your values on the next screen (white box shows firmware version):

    E) Programming instructions

    1. place your v5 into programming mode...
    2. two short flashes + off for one second, three times...
    3. on-on, pause, on-on, pause,on-on, pause, ON (2+2+2 demonstrated below)
    4. red or amber shows dim, then starts flashing
    5. load your favorite program
    6. hold your v5 light to the green square on the screen...
    7. one full green/green cycle -> until the red/amber turns off
    8. turn your light off for 2+ seconds
    9. turn your light on and test your new configuration!

    F) Factory Modes

Configure your light back or over to one of six standard setups:

    1 RLMH RLMH

    2 HMLR HMLR

    3 RLMH HMLR

    4 DLMH DLMH

    5 HMLD HMLD

    6 DLMH HMLD

    G) Special Tactical Configurations

    1x18650 + 2xCR123 Safe
Lower output on two cells, for when two cells is always CR123 (primaries)

    Hidden Second Mode
To have a second mode but make it hard to get to, bury it three clicks deep:

    or four:

    H) Advanced Settings

After-timing, programming videos (right click to save)
How long your light waits before pressing slower = start over

Temperature, programming videos (right click to save)
How long your light waits before reducing output to stop further heating

F values are approximate. All values are interior, exterior will be less.

I just read the Insider. The battery swap mode groups seems like a great solution for me. I was going to get single mode for tactical use, but now that's not necessary.

We are going to want to hear a description of the tint on the dome altered XPL's. And how long can the XPL 2 cell configuration run on high.

Thanks. It was a huge amount of effort over a huge amount of time but I think it was worth it

    Certainly.
We developed a new way to show color but could not include it without postponing the release.
I can say its about 4000k but will need a few weeks to actually show it.
Here are the runtimes I've been able to finish:

    1 cell
    Name Letter Level # Power
    Miliwatts Lumens Runtime Stretchtime
    red R 6 tbd
    dim D 1 0.005% 1.5 0.18 tbd

    high H 28 55% 17000 1933 8m 7m + 18m

    2 cell

    Miliwatts Lumens Runtime Stretchtime
    red R 6 tbd
    dim D 1 0.005% 1.5 0.18 tbd
    low L 16 1.4% 400 46 23h
    medium M 24 22% 6500 758 60m 58m + 21m
    high H 33 100% 30000 3498 10m 8m + 36m

These are XPL on an 18350/800. Figure about 4.5x more for 18650/3400

These are custom. Non HI model, with the dome removed and then a smaller dome replaced.

We can choose the size of the new dome in this process. The shorter it goes, the more throw it has.
We went as short/warm as we could go and still be near white.

These are already very close to pure white. We could do a cool but with less throw. Warm is also an option but not doing that for a few months at least. We've invested months developing this color, lets see how the early adopters feel before altering it.

Thanks Dude, I was planning to go with a sliced image as I've done with various GID parts but the presentation was off so I changed to a split screen view. Even that didn't look balanced, but adding the logo fixed that right up

Its standard on every head, but each purchase page also has a new option:

    GID Ring Installed / Removed
Allowing tactical users to delete it before shipment.

With 2 18650 batteries, how long can you run on high before it gets 'too hot' to hold.

By the way, this sounds like a fantastic light. The programmability knocks it out of the park.

It doesn't. The board is fine up to 120c but that is to high for humans. So there is a thermal management system that monitors the temperature in real time. As it runs into the set limit of 65c, power drops in 1/33 increments. Output is kept as close as possible to the set power level within the thermal limit, for the entire discharge of the cells (until 3.2v per cell).

In practice, its smooth and nearly seamless and is one of my favorite features of the new board.

What you guys put together is simply AM-AZ-ING!!! I cannot wait to have my Black XPL in my hands...

WELL worth the wait, and thanks (and kudos) for the awesome customer service - as a manufacturer and on-line retailer of high-ticket, niche products I know very well the amount of work this alone requires.

    You guys rock!

Will these ever been available as a drop-in?

I have been trying to wait for a Torchlab Triple drop-in for my bored Surefire host, and would love to have something like this.

I gaze at the stars sometimes at night, and the red would be amazing.
