I've heard of these, are they a myth? How do you obtain one of them? Must you change/add the resistors yourself? If so where do you get .04 ohm or two .08 ohm SMD resistors of this size if there are such things?
Appreciate any info.
TIA

You need to add, actually stack, a resistor by yourself. I doubt Wayne will offer this as a standard configuration since it's a kind of overdrive. Buy DB700, which should have 0.12 and 0.18 ohm resistors, and stack a 0.1 ohm resistor with one of the exising resistors. Strictly speaking, it's 1194, but 1200 approx.

dark, if you end up modding a DownBoy into a 1200 and make another one of your McLux PR heads, then you've got an instant customer right here. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

kj, for DB1200....
Another way instead of using a .12 ohm and a .18 ohm resistors, and stacking a .1 ohm resistor with one of them, which equals a parallel resistance of 0.04186046511627907, to get 1194; I could also use a .12 ohm and a .15 ohm resistor and stack a .1 ohm resistor with one of them, which equals a parallel resistance of exactly .040, to get 1250.
Was that correct?

(man that is alot of calculating...I cheated a bit though and used some online calculators to help /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinser2.gif)
I'm still learning all of this
thx

Correct. I realized you mentioned 0.04 ohm resistor and that makes 1250. The combination of 0.1, 0.12 and 0.15 should give you the same result.
