Hi guys, I stumbled across this forum recently. Here's my small "collection":
My favorite one is the yellow Maglite solitaire; I love the color. I also like the hunter green, but it's an incandescent, so I bought a 111 lumen pewter. The old army style light is cool, and has a Morse code button, and I bought an LED drop-in for the weather radio.
When I bought the 111 lumen mini-mag, I thought I was getting a "top of the line, very bright" flashlight.:shakehead Well, it didn't turn out as good as I thought. I really need a tactical flashlight; 500+ lumens, low brightness modes, and ~7-9Hz strobe, but I really like the "traditional" Maglite 2AA/2AA form factor. Is there any decently-priced light I can buy, take apart, and mod to fit in the Maglite shell? I would prefer it to use alkalines, but lithiums are an option. I'm pretty sure I can pull it off; I just need to find the right light.
