Not sure where to post this, but I think it would be nice for the new Sapphire Spy 007 owners to post their experiences with their new lights. I just received #809 and am playing with it with different programming settings while I await the arrival of my IMR red batteries. I have the XM-L2 5000k emitter.

So far I am loving this light! Very easy to program and use, already my favorite flashlight. Works great at very low levels which I have always used a lot at night. So far I have only ramped it up to 2.0 amps, waiting for my red IMR's, but I can already light up my 1 acre lot and much of the forest behind us. I knew I always wanted one, but it is so much better than I anticipated. That does not happen very often with me, usually I go through buyer's remorse with big ticket items. Not with this at all, I really understand why the people who have these love them!

Please post some of your own experiences and, of course, pics of the lights and beam shots. I will do the same.

For those of you looking for a study/protective/reliable holster for your Spy,
Ripoffs is the way to go.

Got this little guy a few days ago. Perfect fit, solid as hell, strong clip....very pleased.
Purchased it on Amazon, 16.95 with free shipping.

Love my Sapphire! I went with the XPL-Hi 6000K, looks just perfect in my opinion.
Also waiting on a fresh set of IMR's.

Ordered a holster, thanks.

First observation. My default levels are, in milliamps:

P1: @ 3
P2: @15
P3: @ 80
P4: @250
P5: @ 500
P6: @1000

I got my IMR red batteries today and programmed another setting to max out the light:

P1: @ 3
P2: @ 15
P3: @ 80
P4: @ 400
P5: @ 1000
P6: @ 3300

Amazing how you can go from very dim moonlight settings to light up the backyard settings. I tried some beam shots outside tonight but really didn't have time to do it right, so will post some this weekend.

Sorry, my life got way too busy and I am headed out of town. I remember way back there was sort of a standard shutter speed and f stop for beam shots that don't make it look like daylight. I tried 2 f stops under exposure but that did not capture it at all. Any suggestions?

Picked up a Spy base model (XM-L2 5000K). I've been carrying it with me since I first put batteries in it. I believe I'll be carrying this light for a very long time. I can't stand things in my pockets so I keep it to a bare minimum and belt clips are not for me. This light fits in in my watch pocket perfectly, I know it's secure and right there when I need it.
I purposely scratched it so I don't baby it. It will be well taken care of but minor scratches here and there are going to happen with me.
I was surprised at how easy it is to program this light. I've programmed a couple different flashlights and the 007 is by far the easiest.
Very happy with this light, the craftsmanship is unbelievable.

My November 8, 2016 Spy Sapphire 007

I just received my new Spy Sapphire 007 from Data and I can't be more pleased. It took me a while to pull the trigger on this, but I just couldn't get myself to go without such a fine work of art. I chose the XM-L2 emitter in 5000k and love the light it throws. I have no trouble illuminating my whole house from 100 feet at only the third click. I have included a few photos of my stone washed Spy. Sorry for the not so good images.

My November 8, 2016 Spy Sapphire 007 and Gatlight Titanium Carbon

Now I have a beautiful Spy Sapphire 007 to go along with my Gatlight Titanium Carbon I've owned for about 10 years.

What's everyone's choice of emitter and opinion now that it's been some time with the light? Does the new sapphire lens make a big difference over the previous gen?

I can't decide, looking for something with a wide flood and warmth from the emitter. Debating on holding for an older gen or just get a sapphire.
