Review: Odepro KL52 zoom adjustable flashlight(18650)

This is my first flashlight review for Odepro free flashlight sample activity in China, errr.... I'm not good at English in fact......
All my flashlight photos were made by iPhone 5s, an old mobile.:naughty:
Odepro KL52 zoom light


Package Included (I don't know whether Odepro provide same accessories in other country):

To adjust zoom lenght, you just need rotate the tail or head part. It's stable at every condition.
At zoom state.


At flood state.This aluminum light has a good hand feel.


Weight: 283g (with the Odepro battery)


I disassembled the light to 5 parts: head, tail, module and two tubes.


Head diameter is 53mm, a big size convex lens light.



You can see from below photos that the lens is really very good, high light transmittance.


The thickness of inner tube is 3mm. A heavy aluminum body is good for the light's heat radiation.


Now you can take off the module part, dazzling brass module. My KL52 use CREE XM-L2(U4) LED, it's said they also provide Osram LED module.



I think Odepro use the white and black parts to get a better beam, and prevent LED short circuit.


Odepro KL52 use two tubes design, rotate tail or head to adjust focal length. The inner tube has 4 O-rings to achieve waterproof IP68.

Inner tube is multiple thread design, so only need about 2 circles to zoom in or zoom out.


Outer tube also has O-ring design.


There are five smooth grooves on the tail, enhance friction when you rotate it. Here are all parts of the tail. Diameter of the golden spring is about 1mm.



I only put KL52 in a basin to make a simple waterproof test, no water in light after 20 minutes,

Do you know cicada, a noisy small animal. I will try to catch them with Odepro KL52 zoom flashlight with my slingshots.:duh2:


KL52 is very convenient that I can lighting very far or a large area.



Find some shelling cicadas. But it's already hot summer in China now, most of cicadas have finished shelling.



Conclusion:
Odepro KL52 is an amazing zoom adjustable flashlight. I can change the beam range and bright. KL52 is a convenient light, I can open every part without help of other tools, include the led pill. Now it use a convex lens, I think beam will be better if use a coated glass lens, but the head maybe heavy. In consideration of KL52 price, it's already won't disappointed you.

It's a shame they didn't use an XP-L HI V3 for more throw. You will need to test the lux further back than one meter for throw lights.

Thanksfor lux test remind! They only provide XM-L2 version, but I think it's very easy to replace a new V3 led on ourselves. Though I don't like the flat V3 led appearance.
