The black anodized threads on your second one looks Non Surefire to me. But, I am not 100% positive. Also the thickness of the body looks off? Looking at the first pic. It looks almost oval? Like it was turned wrong? Could be a camera angle? Maybe some pics with the head apart could help.

Here is a fact sheet on the Surefire 3P that includes some photos. From the photos, it looks like it is more likely that your 3P with the Texas Radiology logo is an original 3P. The threads appear to be deeper and more clearly defined than the other one. Also, someone cutting down a 6P to make a 3P would not be likely to anodize the new threads.

Thanks your reply, I also think the bezel and tailcap is an original but the body's work doesn't like original one, it seems to be different on surface and screw. That make me confuse.

I just can't get past the Ano job on the threads. Looks bad. Also Ano inside where the Drop in makes contact? My 3P & 6P look like yours on the left. No Ano on threads or inside where the Drop in sits.
Curious to see what some others have to say. Maybe they have some with Ano on the threads and inside the head?
Looking at the 4th pic, Is the body milled wrong, or is it Ano coming over the threads?

Yes, It is different with 6P/9P and also in screw edge, a normal surefire item with good surrounding but this one not, I think I need to request return to the seller.

I'm going to change my opinion and go with the Texas Radiology as a home made job. As far as I know, Surefire has never anodized the inside of one of their lights. Is there any printing on the tailcap? A real Surefire light will have either Laser Products or Surefire on the tail cap.

The tailcap seems to be genuine one, it has laser products and sure fire 3p marks but the body is like a clone one.

Both are real!
The older 3P / 6P / 6Z have shorter length and anodized threads / inside the tube. Very rare but good for collection.

The older 3P / 6P / 6Z should have darker / more glossy anozized finish as well!

An interesting observation.

While original 3P are collectible, I prefer FiveMega bodies. First, they are bored for 18mm, second, they have knurling.

From what I can see from the excellent pictures neither is a fake. The finish on the longer one is a little questionable, but it looks Surefire in every other way.

The shorter one with the finish on the threads is very unusual. But the fit and finish seems to be legit, that head locks up to the body pretty nice. Maybe I'm getting senile, but I don't remember seeing any SF's in the past with finish on the threads. I only remember seeing that on aftermarket bodies. I never really gave a damn about 3P's though, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. Also, I can't keep track of all the old weaponlight bodies, but that might be what you have there in a frankenlight. The lengths were all different over the years and the finish was really smooth on the older units like this picture.
