Artistic LED Lights (sticky)

Once read a wise post that positied that the LED would revolutionize lighting design. I don't see any sticky thread here with artsy light designs. Sad, because this is part of the LED revolution.

I was BLOWN away in one person's house with this led dining room light:

The Philips HUE system has light strips btw; so you could make that sort of mobile change Kelvin/color..

Surprised no one has experimented with something like neopixel strips for general lighting - far more granular programming than anything consumer products are likely to offer.

Those Edison-style bulbs do look pretty cool. I have a fixture in my bathroom that I believe is meant for globe-shaped bulbs. Looks kind of weird with regular bare light bulbs, but being chromed (and getting a bit "patinaed" with the years) this type of bulb may lend it a cool "industrial" look.
