I recently got this and so far it seems good. A few questions.

1. Does it use lithium ion batteries in both slots at the same time when employed as a powerbank aka using both to power a phone or tablet.

2. What is the low voltage cut-off? Thinking about running two unprotected batteries for use as a powerbank. Says there is a low voltage over discharge protection but what is the voltage cut-off.

3. Anyone solar test this yet?

4. Is there a minimum capacity lithium ion battery type which can be used as a powerbank.. aka 14500 in a pinch to power my phone for a few extra %.

Thanks.

Finally got around to solar testing the K2. Based on my limited testing (going to test again tomorrow) it is solar compatible. No charging errors from clouds etc.

Edit. I was able to produce a charging error with extremely low light clouded over sunlight using lithium ion and it was easier to do (but that is relative to lithium ion performance and overall good) it with AA however the light levels were far below the threshold of passing clouds and it actually self recovered during the AA tests. Lithium ion was able to hold on to functioning in really really low light. The clouds never parted enough to see it if would self recover with lithium ion however the light level was so so low. Overall better at solar than I expected for a more complex charger.

edit again.

Just to clarify it would self recover in good light if obstructed for both NiMH or Lithium ion. Was talking about low low light.

The powebank testing wasn't all that impressive. Seemed to stop charging at 3.6 or
so volts. For example it would push the iPad up 12 or so percent on a 3500 mAh battery.
That same battery in another power bank charger would get 23 or 24% and go down to 3.3 volts.

Hi Woods.

What solar charger were you using in your test?

Thanks

John.
