Hello

Im gonna buy some new H9 high beam bulbs for my Volvo V60, the olde ones are Osram orginal line bulbs 65w.
I have seen some Phillips Vision H9 bulbs on eBay and some Phillips Blue Vision H9 bulbs and that's it.
My question is about the US Phillips site.
The have these 9005 bulbs in extreme vision 65w and they look the same as H9 base.
But what socket is 9005? Do they not have the H sockets in the US?
Can some of the 9xxx bulbs from the US be used in H9 socket, same but other name?

Re: About H9 bulb socket and other bulb sockets

[Philips] have these 9005 bulbs in extreme vision 65w and they look the same as H9 base.

The 9005 (otherwise known as the HB3) is on a P20d base. The H9 is in a PGJ195 base. They have some resemblance but are not mechanically compatible, nor are the bulbs optically compatible.

Do they not have the H sockets in the US?
They have sockets for halogen bulbs in the US, yes.

Can some of the 9xxx bulbs from the US be used in H9 socket, same but other name?
No.

There is no 4-digit number for the H9, H11, or H13. Some of the Hn bulbs have "trade numbers", like the H10 having trade number 9145, but the H9 is only an H9.
