It does look sweet, HunterSon.

Deep reflector...plenty of beef in the head for heat sinking.

Lettuce know what you think when you get it.

TnC CP make some really nice looking lights. From what I can tell, they are good performers as well.

At the time of the first post there was 5 available on the TNC website. Now there is only 1, looks like 4 other people think it is sweet enough to own too.

Re: Doesn\'t this look sweet!

How did you get it with a Lux III? It doesn't say anything about a LuxIII on their site. There is only reference to a 5watt version.

Sweet indeed.

Re: Doesn\'t this look sweet!

I don't want to sound like a critical, whiney SOB, but a lot of things are lacking on this site:

No mention of warranty or customer return policies.

No real (deep) technical details of the lights.

Site claims to save you money on Surefire 123A cells, charging you $2 each. Surefire sells their cells for $15 for a dozen. Unless there is still a bug in my Windows Calculator program, that is not saving me money.

OK - I'm done with my concerns. I am interested to hear how this product performs. A large, properly designed reflector will always outdo a molded optic. If the beam is clean and white, count me in. It is attractively priced, no doubt about it. And don't forget those beamshots!

Re: Doesn\'t this look sweet!

I have a Hyper Lux V on my site right here, but it is the 5W version, not the 3W version.
So I don't know how helpful my evaluation will be in this case.
But it's something, and something is usually better than nothing at all. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink2.gif

FYI the warranty on the Hyper Lux V is lifetime on the body, 1 year on the lamp.

Re: Doesn\'t this look sweet!

Great review! I feel silly for not have looked there first. You probably have reviews posted for every light ever made, save for Edison's first tungsten bulb.

I was a little put out by the one year warranty on the LED. But when you think about it, it would take 3000 CR123's to run it for a 1000 hours. If one can afford that much for 'pet' food, one certainly wouldn't have any qualms about getting a new 'pet', should fate befall it.

Re: Doesn\'t this look sweet!

I have two Hyper Lux V's a silver one and a blue one, and they are my favorite lights in my collection.

I wonder how the 3 watt would compare?
