I don't know the answer to this, but I think the answer will teach me something.

I see a brightness difference between two hosts and cells that should be more or less identical, but one is clearly brighter.

First, let me list what is identical, the very same items shared between the hosts:

  • incan Elite head
  • Tad Customs E-socket
  • Lamptronix LM2A001 lamp trimmed to sit deep enough in the socket to be focused by the reflector (it is dim, but I like it)
  • age, number of charge cycles, and starting voltage of the two cells in the list below

Here is what is different:

  • E1e with AW IMR 16340 15C
  • Malkov 1AA MDC with AW IMR 14500 15C

What I am experiencing is that the E1e is brighter than the Malkov. Not twice as bright, but noticeably brighter. I can switch the head back and forth after running the light for half a minute, and I'm still seeing the same thing.

If this is in fact the case, why might this be so?

^^ Or circuit efficiency in general.

I have some oldies that arrived working. With fresh fuel they had a definite first thing in the moring urine colored beam.
After deoxidizing particular areas in the circuit they'd have a real nice, much whiter beam.

Checking for ohms may tell the tale.
