Eagtac loves to use led lumens to advertise their lights, even though they will also list the otf lumens under the led lumens on their product pages. I bet that 2000 lumen 18350 light is really more like 1600 otf lumens.

Edit: nvm I just saw the tag on it and my assumption was right.

I don't like Eagtac's penchant for citing LED lumens either. But 1600 OTF lumens is still pretty crazy for a production 18350 light! I mean, crazy crazy. The one thing I'd say is that something seems a bit off, though: an 18350 powering 1600 lumens for 55 minutes -- that math doesn't seem right.

I am totally looking forward to an 18650 version!

It's probably one of those things where it's like 2-5minutes at turbo, then it steps output down to less than half of the original, and runs with that for the remainder.

Yeah, I would bet at most 2 minutes and then it will ramp down. My Armytek C2 Pro XHP35(Warm) has a 1580 OTF lumen turbo and it gets to 60C in about a minute flat before the thermal regulation kicks in and starts lowering the output. It is quite a bit smaller then this light though, especially when running it with the C1 body and 18350's.

Thanks for the videos, Eagtac is often over looked by a lot of flashlight guys in my opion so its nice to see some quality videos. I have always had good look with the Eagtac lights I have owned and look forwars to owning more. The fact they are one of the few manufacturers who offer such a variety of LEDs in their lights, aren't afraid to step out of tue norm with either UIs or features impresses me. Hopefully I can pick up a TX30C2, SX30C2, and MX30L3C. I will most likely try and take advantage of their custom led option as i would like to have a NW xhp35 in the TX30C2 and a NW xhp35 hi in the SX30C2.

I have been thinking about this light.
Can it operate with a cr123A?
They could have circuitry that does 2,000 initial emitter lumens with a rcr123, and drops to 1,000 OTF after 30 seconds. Then on a cr123A you get 1,000 initial emitter lumens-for 30 seconds, dropping down to 500 OTF lumens.
And it probably uses the new xhp50.2 emitter. {flood early, flood often}

Yes, I think you're right that it's oneof the big floody emitters. It will be interesting to see if they publish OTF lumens as ANSI lumens (in which case, I think. the spec requires measurement after 1 minute) or if they're doing the technique you suggest. I have no problem with companies using that technique AS LONG AS THEY'RE UP FRONT ABOUT IT. I personally often find myself flashing on higher modes, and when a task requires longer constant-on, medium is often enough to do the job. But these companies need to be transparent

Well, it looks as if it is almost here. The DX30B-MR
No xhp50.2, but the xhp35-HD or -HI, in flood & throw-your choice.
I hope the circuit is smart enough to skip the 'turbo boost' period when you are using 2x cr123a. Attempting to draw ~12 watts from two cells, doesn't do anyone any favors, for just 30 seconds of showing off.

Has there been an announcement?

Eagtac has slowly risen through the ranks to become perhaps my fave Chinese light company, over the years bumping off Sunwayman (due to lights that just don't interest me) and Nitecore & Klarus (both due to quality issues, and in Klarus's case, dopey decisions on both their XT interface and lack of competitive throw)

Ah, I see, the pre-orders for the DX30B-MR are not live yet, but the pages are up. Specs on candlepower seem CRAZY good: 37k on the HI version. And the kit version comes with an 18650 tube -- nice! Let's hope those specs don't prove to be TGTBT

Strange I have yet to see any mention of the new SX30A4. I got one about a month ago and holy shnikes it is flat out stellar! Also got the GX30A3-D. Both are amazing especially the SX30A4. Max output of the SX30A4 is ridiculously bright. I have the new XHP35 Armyteks and the SX30A4 is brighter than all of them.

Thanks for the info! No moonlight mode. That is sad.

Agree, the one thing Eagtac never puts on the lights of this type, unfortunately. That said, whenever I have a light tbig, I also have a smaller backup, and since the only time I use moonlight is on late night trips to the bathroom or kitchen, I'm ok using the smaller light for that :) So it's definitely not a deal-killer for me, but would strong prefer a moonlight, even though that means a far bigger gap in the remaining modes
