From my experience with Japanese style blades, I would say that they are worth an agreed upon price based upon the buyers aesthetic goals and budget. Although the maker does not use the Japanese names for fittings and hamon shapes, he freely admitted to copying styles that he has acquired over time. He did not allege some special training from a Grand Master or any other mystical abilities as I have encountered in the past from a few other makers.

The blades were more impressive live in the hand as compared to the video but I believe that the sayas (sheaths) were well represented in the video.
