I have a pair of protected Keeppower 5200mAh 26650 batteries that sit unused because they are too long to fit in any of my five 26650 sized flashlights. I want to remove the protection circuit and rewrap the battery.

Any tips on how to remove the circuit safely? I don't want to experience a :poof: :mecry:

I did it with no problem to some Keeppower 18650, 3500mAh batteries. Take a look at this thread. It has some pictures that might be similar to what you can expect. In short its not hard to do and I can't think of anything scary. You're dealing with a live battery so just use common sense. You just don't want to short out the pos and neg terminals of course.
