so i have 2 mte ssc p7-d and they are pretty bad they are around 300 lm and the switch just sucks it switching modes by it own it flicker barely putting any light oud or just stop working
so i really want to improve tham
so i have few problems that i would like f you could help me with
so i have to plans for each one a flodder and thrower
i will start with the thrower i am planing to buy xp-l hi 5000k and an smo reflector but i am not really sure on what driver should i use. i thought about using the blf a 6 driver as it is cheap and drive the emitter pretty hard around 5.5 amp but i suspect it will fry the emitter as shown in the graph below it has a jump in this area. so dose someone has experience with it? could i use this driver?
my plan b is look for a 3.5-4 amps driver on mtn electronics
the flood version:
my plan is to put there an xhp70 with a driver that will boost the 3.7v to 6v i want it around 2500lm so 3 amps on the led and (3a*6.3v=19w 19w/3.7v=5.13a) so 5.4 amp on the battery (got the number a little higher because of energy loses[resistance])
so my biggest problem is heatsink i am not really sure if it would be enough or i need to use less power
i think it is made of brass its pretty heavy but not thery thick
some picture of the heatsink with aaa for scale
13mm (h) 20mm (d) and thickness from were the led sits to the bottom is only 2.5-2.8mm
so does it will be sufficient for such high power lights?
by the way jut a question that came from the graphes, how dose it possible that the xhp70 is so much more efficient as in the graphs the xpl (with the dome) on 5.5 amp is 1900lm and when the battery supply also 5.5 amp and 3.7v (same energy) the xhp70 reaches 2500lm
