Most of these have a NCR18650B inside and you can clearly see the green tint and bold lettering through the wrapper. I recently came across one with a pink cell inside. It tests out barely in the low 3.3Ahr range @700mA discharge from 4.2-2.8v while the NCR18650B-based versions test out in the mid 3.4Ahr range under the same conditions.

Who makes a pink cell >300mAhr? I'm not up to date on LCOs and NCAs these days as I buy only NMCs and LMCs (LMO/LCO hybrids) unless they happen to come with equipment or lights (as these ThruNite "Power" units did).

I suspect the one that came with my TC12 V2 is an LG F1L.

The only name brand pink cell that I know of that is over 3000mAH is the Samsung 35E. But at 3500mAH, this cell should test out with more capacity than the NCR18650B. If we consider cells rated at EXACTLY 3000mAH, the Samsung 30Q and LG D1 are also pink. But I doubt either of these cells are being used as protected cells.

Interesting. I'm going to resist the temptation to unwrap. They are going back to Amazon with the TruNite U1 open-frame charger/power source which are junk.
