Thread: Airtight 18650 storage using Lock & Lock containers

Default Airtight 18650 storage using Lock & Lock containers

I find most battery containers rather flimsy and brittle. These Lock&Lock containers are very tough. Here are the storage capacities:

    HPL805 180ml "6oz":
    • Holds 6 18650s any length somewhat loosely (may want to shim)

    HPL806 350ml "11oz":
    • Holds 12 18650s any length. May want to shim at bottom (slight taper top to bottom and a little snug laterally at the very bottom). Snug in all directions but vertical.

    HPL810 360ml "12oz" (shorter but wider than 806)
    Older Version (black O-Ring):

    • 16 unprotected snugly
    • 14 protected loosely

    Current Version (blue O-Ring):

    • 15 unprotected snugly
    • 13 protected loosely

    HPL817 1,000ml "34oz":
    • 39 any length.

I'm not sure if I would like mutliple 18650 Cells stored in a very robust and perfectly sealed container.

One thing that makes them tough is that they are not rigid. I'm sure they would vent through the corner where there are no latches with any significant overpressure. You can pry the corner up with a finger.
