Ok cant boost much...less than 200 lumen increase... still a great light though. A tiny bit less bright than the EC50vn but more throw...

I like this larger reflector. Wonder how sst40 will do in it. But SST40 = no more USB charging :-(

I personally wouldn't miss the USB charging as I do not use it in the few lights I have with that ability. The only comparisons important to me is lumen, lux & color. Let's see what SST40 can do!

Any thoughts of sticking an SST-40 in a T30vn or L6vn with Smooth reflector Vinh? Or does the XHP35 HI still out-throw it?

Are you charging the stock Acebeam 20700 battery on a charger?
What charger are you using, because none of my chargers will fit the stock Acebeam 20700 battery.

I charge stock cells in light and the Sanyp NCR20700B on normal chargers. Both gives about the same performance.

SST40 SD is amazing in this light. 1700 Lumen and 140KCd. The intensity is amazing and I cant think of another light this size that throw more with near this lumen in my line up. The S2002vn with XPG2 PDT only does 685 Lumen and 155K Lux. But man the mod takes too long you loose USB charging. Sanyo 4200mAh cell works great and can be charge outside. Must pick between DriverVNX2 side switch or DriverVN4 rear switch though...

Spec 1 is a great deal at $140 though...I am a thrower fan so I am just more fascinated with throw. I wish there was a shorter non clicky tail cap! ;-)

Good title as L30 and L16 also have interchangeable tubes. I'm running the 20700 on my L16 most of the time. Any chance of you getting a few L30 body tubes for sale. I emailed Acebeam twice without response. To get the brightest output on the L16 I was running a 3000mah Samsung 30Q. Longest run time it's the 3500 mah NCR18650GA Sanyo's. The Sanyo NCR20700B does both.

Wow! The L30vn with SST40 finally knocks the venerable S200C2vn off the throne in that size.
Virtually the same size & same throw, but over twice the lumens!
