I actually camp in the -20F range. Interesting....

    This is potentially very interesting.
Can the battery be used for lower drain and extended usage as well, such as weeks or months at -20C to -30C?

This could be interesting for those of us in cold climates, that would like to leave a nice lamp in the car for extended periods. More info is needed.

The NL1829LTP batteries can work weeks or months at lower temperatures (-20C to -30C). They are low temperature resistant down to -40C. Yet, it is suggested to use a lower output if below -30C, and to recharge batteries at temperatures between 0 to 40C

    From a June 2017 announcement:

A new development in electrolyte chemistry, led by ECS member Shirley Meng, is expanding lithium-ion battery performance, allowing devices to operate at temperatures as low as -60° Celsius.

Currently, lithium-ion batteries stop operating around -20° Celsius. By developing an electrolyte that allows the battery to operate at a high efficiency at a much colder temperature, researchers believe it could allow electric vehicles in cold climates to travel further on a single charge. Additionally, the technology could allow battery-powered devices, such as WiFi drones, to function in extreme cold conditions.

That's a very interesting battery, though a tad expensive for me. I may get one or two nevertheless.
