Ah ok, hopefully we're on our way to solving the OP's problem.

I do not. Thanks for the response, Dan!

I’ll need to ship you a spring washer. In the meantime do you have a spring washer or shorter battery to try?

    Update

Our original testing showed that the P20 Unified Host benefited from spring washers and the Z35 did not. But this testing was based on a single set of batteries that have not shown to be representative. Longer batteries also benefit from spring washers on the Z35.

We are now shipping free spring washer kits to all Z35 owners.

When yours arrives, please remove your current kit and follow these steps:

    insert spring washer
    insert dropin (not included)
    insert one (thinner) oring
    insert lens
    insert second (thinner) oring
thread in and tighten bezel ring
    test

    Hi,

Quick question : is the Z70 compatible with the 18350 and 18650 extender ? It will not be pretty but it's useful for extended runtime.

Could someone post picture of the Z70 and Z35 next to a classic 6p or moddoolar bodies ?

    Thank you.

Does anyone have a picture of the Z70 with standard knurled tailcap and a Surefire grip ring? Thanks.

    Update

Z70 models are almost sold out. More are already in production but there will be a period with no availability

Shorter models are proving less popular and may not be made again

Can any p60 drop in be used with the z35 host or do you need to use an oveready p60 drop in with it?
I have a sportac p60 drop in currently that I need to use, will this work in the z35 host?
    Thanks

    Welcome to CPF!

Any P60 should work. I run a PFlexPro unit in mine.

Has anyone ever used a Malkoff Tricap on one of these? If so, can you post a photo?

I can get a pic tomorrow. I ran my Z70 with a tricap for a few days but it is longer overall than with Z41 type tail cap.

I ordered a v5 triple drop in with the unified Z70 host. I struggled with the tail cap options, but I decided to forego the deep pocket carry tail cap. Not really interested in a clip. I'll run it with a tricap for now, although I may switch to a z41 in the future. Looking forward to receiving this! It will be my first Oveready flashlight.

Sorry, we normally stock z41 style caps but are out (in black)
DPC caps add length and cost and only make sense for the clip

Got your light tested and shipping
note, unified hosts need a Z44 size bezel tool

Do you have an ETA for the black ano Z41 style tailcaps?
As well as the DPC black clips?
    Thx..

I didn't realize there were different sized tools...

I don't have a bezel tool so I just used a hard rubbery surface for install. It worked fine, but I'm not confident it'll go in the other direction.

I have seen "Xeno" Z44 bezel tools on eB. They are made of partially machined die cast amalgam. The tools and parts are inexpensive import products, but I believe the tool fits OEM Z44 bezels properly

Dans idea of using something like a silcone rubber pad to tighten ring by twisting head down on flat surface is a good option

With any luck they'll ship it with the drop in installed.

I hope so. If not, I'll use Random Dan's Shoe Sole Method. The shipment is scheduled for delivery today, so we'll know very soon. On another front, I broke down and bought a complete Surefire 6P original from Illumination Supply, partially because I just like them, but also because I want the option of using its tail cap on this OR rig.
