Best wishes for your Mother Vinh , hope she's alright .

A question about the "Goliath" flashlight Vinh . I have one stock here from the recent sale , and thinking of modding it , but i would like a little help . The bezel that holds the reflector is glued or not ? I'm looking how to avoid getting help from my vice clamp haha !

Put tape around body flare neck. Clamp it down. Use strap vise from home depot to twist off head.

Great pics guys, think the tn42vn90 has moved up to the most wanted. 900kcd+( i bet 1000kcd+ if measured further near focal point) and 4300lm is just a winner!!! Damn...............

I have my doubts that its even 900k CD. I always measure high and at 10 meters I only measured 835kcd with the Tn42vn90. The gt out throws it easy. That said i believe once this led is driven harder 1 million or more is pretty much guaranteed.

Final thoughts on the TN42vn 90

    Definitely an impressive light.
HUGE hot spot, plenty of throw, nice neutral tint and plenty of spill/flood amounting in more than sufficient peripheral light.

The weather has been cold[except for Friday when it was 62F!]. Being that the run times are short, Heat is not an issue. My guess is that in the summer time you could run it for about 5 minutes on MAX. This prototype is single mode, activate/de-activate by tightening and loosening body.

Disregarding the price. The ONLY down side is the run time. This is to be expected with the amount of power and the lower capacity of VTC5A.

Solution: Have at least Two[2] sets of VTC5A and change them in 15 minutes if you like MAX OUTPUT like me! Same concept as my Modded single cell throwers.

I always do a run time test when I get a new light[even if it is not mine for keeps!]

    Batteries- VTC5A

    Test: MAX run time/tail stand/no fan/Incremental 5 min. ON, 5 min. OFF.

    Starting Voltage-4.21V

    Loft Temp- 63F/17C

    5 MIN=3.96V
    10 MIN=3.80V
    15 MIN=3.67V
    20 MIN=3.57V

The first 5 minutes is awesome, next 5 is still good. after 10 minutes or so the decrease is noticeable. After 15 minutes[3.67V] it is really noticeable.

Wild guess,,,after 20 minutes the output is probably ~ 60/65% of turn on output. It is still bright enough to use and enjoy.

Thanks again V54 and my friend, cameraman Bob.

Enjoy it LLS ON COWLES MT.!

Thanks for your information Capo, much appreciated. The evoluton of this light is very interesting, and the fact Vinh has sent it out to "the users" to test and and give informative feedback is a testament of his desire for creative excellence. I'm living the "roadshow"...., much good will come of it..., I'm sure. 👊🏻

Thanks for the info Roberto, never realised how much it eat through batteries...........WOW. I think this LED maybe better suited to the 8 cell BLF beast, give or take double the run time potential............Its a shame thrunite dont do an extension kit, maybe one that would be compatible with the tn42(and if possible, other 4 cell thrunites)..............think like the tk75 run time kit.

Great beam pic, love the others too.................well done bob! The 4 B's.......... Rob Bob Beam Bonanza

    ^^^^

Your welcome. It surprised me a little bit how much it ate through the batteries. Not totally.

My TK75vn QUAD is 7700 lumens and after combined 25 minutes of run time it is 3.50V.

    The TN42vn 90 is ~ 4300 and it gives 20 min. @ 3.57V

Besides the LED'S, The difference is the batteries[ MJ1 3500mAh] for the QUAD and the "90" on VTC5A[~2500mAh]is driven a lot harder @ 18A.

I was sooo happy the Philadelphia eagles won last night, Capo and I took another hike w/ the TN42vn and the TK75 QUAD,,,,,,,,,A Victory hike!

One last Positive and Professional beam shot!!,,,well the beam shot is as professional as possible!

This is the best angle I could get. Possibly could have move forward a few hundred yards but wanted the furthest shot!

The pictures are ever so slightly different, decided to post both.they are not the greatest but they show the amazing amount of light displayed in the spill and the tiny little tower in the distance is sufficiently lit up!!!

    TN42vn 90

1561M/1707YDS. To Tower ,,,,,,53 yards short of a mile!
