Hey guys, I'm planning to run this setup with an old Surefire 9P that I have. My big question is, which should I use a 12V or 14V bulb. I'm thinking I'll be ok with the 12V since I'm only 0.6 volts over with a full charge. I'm thinking the 14V will be too dim. However, I also know that the 12V was designed to work with CR123s and they almost never actually have 3 volts coming out of them so most of the time they'e only operating at 10 or 11 volts. Thanks!!!

Definitely the 13-14v lamps. But be careful of current draw of the lamp on those little 16340s unless they're imr. The 12v la run around 10.4v. Those 16340s will run around 11.4v

That's kind what I was thinking, 13V seems like it would be optimal but I don't see 13V bulbs for sale anywhere. It seems like it's either 12V or 14V. I'm going to use a protected cell so that should help with the amps too. I'm just thinking that when they get up and running at 11.1V that the bulb might be pretty dim so I was wondering if anyone's running this setup currently.

I'm not sure why they're called 14v but look at lumens factory. They have 3x like ion d26 size lamp assemblies

Edited: I was wrong it's only for the d36 LAs and you would not want to run that lamp on three protected 16340. But the 13-14v LAs can't be made for anything else. They're less than $3 a piece so it's not much of a loss if it doesn't work out. Personally you'd be better off with 2x 17500 and a 9v lamp

So, I would but I bought a ton of 16340 cells a while back. I don't quite go through them on my 6R and 6Z like I thought I would so I wanted to toss 3 of my unused ones in this light.

I think I'm going to give er a shot.

You had me curious, so I was looking up some specs and the cells I'm using are 700mAh and they discharge at 2C so they're putting out about 1.4 amps, less than an CR123.

It looks like the high discharge put out about 7 amps, about double a CR123. I don't think I'd want to be using high discharge with the P60 lamps.

I have a 14 volt D26 working well and bright with 4 IMR 18350 in custom made body and current draw is about 1.5 Amps
I never try 12 volt version to test but I think it should work (little overdrive) with 3 IMR 16340.
BTW, Li-cobalt cells have more voltage drop under load and current draw will be just about 2C.

P60 and P61 will instaflash using pair of rechargeable 16340
P90 works fine with pair of rechargeable 16340 and P91 overdrives with pair of IMR 16340

Nfetterly- A HUGE +1 to that. Has to be one of my top 3 favorite rechargable incan setups. Not a whole lot of runtime, but what there is is spectacular. :)
