Hi CPF! I'd love your help getting some recommendations for a prototype project I'm working on. At this stage I am gathering information about what types of components I would/could need or use to make the vision come to life (and how much it might cost). The design I imagined is essentially a high-output light in a regular handheld flashlight housing which is meant to be used in the home whilst plugged into a power cord that goes into a wall outlet. It's primary use will be at a very close range (possibly at contact with the end of the light touching or just inches away from the target) for short periods of time (30-60 seconds at a time, but must be able to do so repeatedly) to heat and vaporize organic molecules.
The specs below may seem more like a lamp than a flashlight but bear with me, your suggestions and recommendations will be much appreciated!
Some questions I have are:
What kind of bulb and reflector do I need which will: last a long time, generate a lot of heat/light at a range of 0-3 inches?
What kind of internals do I need to accommodate a strong emitter powered by a wall outlet?
