I got a Dell laptop and pulled 6 lg 18650 2800mah cells from it. They are 4.30v cells. Unfortunately my chargers can charge 4.2 and 4.35v chemistries. To be clear are 4.3 and 4.35v cells the same. I haven't seen any 4.3v cells on hjks comparator and never heard of them. Just the 4.35v variety. Thanks

Samsung and Sanyo have made 4.30v specific cells and Sanyo makes my v.1 16650 4.30v cells. LG makes my D1 and E1s that are 4.35v, but I really haven't bothered with the 4.30v Samsung 18650s.

Do you charge your 4.3v cells to 4.2v then?

Yes, because the two Redilast 17670 (Sanyo 16650 ~2200mAh) cells I have for my SureFire 6P are protected and the protection circuits on any 4.30v/4.35v cells will prevent you from charging up fully (over-voltage protection of about 4.25v).

I do have two LG D1 (3000mAh/4.35v) and two LG E1 (3200mAh/4.35v) cells that are naked and hence can be charged up to 4.35v on my various chargers capable of charging them up.

Undercharging them is fine if you don't want to go to the expense, but I'm not buying 4.35v cells just to run them at 4.20v. If they flame out faster and get recycled, that's just one less pizza and sixer I'll be eating/drinking.

The Gryfalcon all-88 and all-44 have a setting for 4.3V batteries. I have 12 Samsung ICR18650-28A's that I pulled from 2 laptop packs which are 4.3V batteries. I charge them with the MC3000. I made a program using LiIon 4.35V chemistry and changed the target voltage to 4.30. It works great.
