392 / 393 battery question

Can someone tell me if my thinking is flawed here?

I run a single LED light, and I am looking for a longer run-time. If I currently use 3 stacked 392s, can I use 2 stacked 393s? I know I will only have 3.10 volts, rather than 4.5, so the light will not be as bright, which is fine. But, will I get a longer run time?

I did this with another light/ battery combo. The cr2016 and cr2032. I more than doubled my run time by switching to a single cr2032, rather than a double cr2016. Ya, the light is not as bright which is fine.

Thanks, just trying to get some different ideas before I spend any more money. These 392s every couple of days gets pricey.

It will probably work. Most LEDs will run off 3v, so your voltage should be high enough. The light is probably something simple, like a LED in series with a resistor to drop the voltage and limit the current to the LED. Using a lower voltage battery will drop the output significantly, but you'll probably increase the run time by at least 3x.
