About 322 incans and 2 so called high cri LED lights that frankly... add more bias to conditions, making the world look like somebody photoshop'd the contrast on max... ie looks fake.

What is HI CRI in your eyes? Over 90 or over 80 etc, for me i see 80+ good enough for hi cri(or compared to a lot of 70CRI). For these i have gone 90+ CRI,

    Some surefire hosts/p60's
    219c 4k triple/219c 4k triple/219b 4.5k triple/219b 4k quad/219c 5k quad

    219c 4k triple/219b 4.5k triple/219b 4.5k mule

    219c 4k

Thats about it off the top of my head, i can say though i enjoy 4500k xhp35 and xhp35 HI very much although lower CRI. Also xhp50 5k along with some xpl HI's. So HI CRI is not a must have, colour temp and tint are more important. After all, i dont want a smoke stain yellow hi cri beam! Give me a 5k NW 70 CRI any day instead.

The sc62d 85CRI is a winner, 5k and very nice!

    219c 5k which is 80+ iirc, also a nice temp/tint

These are both xp-l2, 4k and 4.5k. The 4k is too yellow, the 4.5k much more bearable on the eye's/brain. Even though lower CRI, i much prefer it............as an example .

    Cheers!

    Don't forget Yuji.

I have at least 4 lights retrofitted with the 5mm Yuji with 95+ High CRI LED.

I think you are referring more to tint preferences than CRI. CRI is an objective measurement. If something measures at 90+ CRI then it's high CRI, whether it looks nice or not. I would agree that Nichia tends to be better at producing nice looking tints versus Cree, although the XM-L2 easywhite in my Zebra headlamp is quite nice. For Cree emitters I prefer the 4000K 80CRI hi-intensity emitters over the higher CRI domed emitters because they have less tint shift in my experience.
    Hello darkness my old friend,
I've come to talk with you again...
I liked neutral tints before they were cool.

Cree makes a couple nice emitters that I've found and are included in the above photo. The XHP35A-H0-0000-0D0HC445E (4500K 80 CRI 3-step MacAdam) has a very neutral tint with good color rendering. This may be the emitter Zebralight uses is the SC600 HI IV. The XHP70A-01-0000-0D0UJ445G (4500K 90 CRI 3-step) is also very nice, and I hear good things from maukka about the 5000K version.

Not so good are the XP-G3 and XP-L2, which manufacturers like Zebralight and Olight have been using where they probably ought to use 219Cs.

Bykfixer- you only have 2 LED lights that are hiCRI? Is that really possible? I know you have LOTS of lights... You must have very few LED lights in general? Sounds like you prefer incandescent?

Mr. Fixer has, among other types, a very impressive collection of vintage incandescent flashlights, many of which date back to the early 20th century. Somewhere around here there's a thread showing them off.

I didn't know convoy and armytek had high CRi offerings? Are they only 80+?

Most of these lights have emitter swaps. Only the S41, K1 and BLF 348 are unmodified. Armytek did offer a high-CRI Wizard once though: it was a 3000K, 90 CRI XM-L2.

    The emitter swaps are:

    • Acebeam L16: Cree XHP35 HI 4000K 80 CRI (From Kaidomain)
    • Acebeam L30: Cree XHP70 4500K 90 CRI, shaved (XHP70A-01-0000-0D0UJ445G from Arrow)
    • Thrunite Ti5T: Nichia 219C 5000K 90 CRI (From Virence)
    • Haikelite HT35: Cree XHP35 HI 4500K 80 CRI (XHP35A-H0-0000-0D0HC445E from Arrow)
    • Nitecore HC30: Nichia 219C 4000K 90 CRI (from mtnelectronics)
    • Thorfire VG25: Nichia 219B 4500K 90 CRI (R9080 sw45k from Virence)
    • Klarus XT12S: Cree XHP35 HI 4500K 80 CRI (XHP35A-H0-0000-0D0HC445E from Arrow)
    • Jetbeam T6: Nichia 319A 5000K 80 CRI (from Virence)
    • Convoy S6: Nichia 219C 4000K 90 CRI x3
    • Imalent HR30: Nichia 319A 5000K 80 CRI
    • Armytek Wizard Pro: Nichia 144AR 5700K 90 CRI (12 volt)
    • Convoy S3: Nichia 219B 5700K 90 CRI (from Kaidomain)
    • Armytek Wizard Pro: Nichia 144AM 4500K 90 CRI (6 volt from Virence)

    Yup 2....

A Tana singLED at 4000kelvin and one at 3000kelvin. I really, really, really, really like the 3000kelvin one. I tolerate the 4000 one because it is similar to the overdriven beam of my incan E2E lights.

Now I have oh.... 150? 200 LED lights? Maybe more. lol. But you take like a Malkoff M61 (regular, N or W)... not rated at high CRI. PK's, Streamlights, SureFires's, Elzettas, Rayovacs, Maglites and so on. The beam color and my eyeballs play nice together.

Now I mentioned incan because folks around here say those are 100 CRI. I see the term CCT used a lot. I suppose to my eyeballs that is probably a better predictor than CRI. Intensity on an object also plays a big part. Too much or too little negates any rating on a chart and graph.

Example would be walking down the street. The low beam from my G2x Pro provides my brain the visual clues at 25' much better than either singLED that is either on high or low. At that distance in ordinary circumstances my G2x Pro provides just the right amount of intensity in my peripheral vision.

Now my 85 lumen G2L beam? Ugh. Thatz pretty bad. Pine trees look gray. My red truck.... grayish red... people... well they look like the undertaker worked on them. But most LED lights I own, going back to oh... 2003? They do ok. My Pentagon L2's for example... and Pelican 2330... both from like 06. I'd put them up against a bunch of modern stuff as they were ahead of the curve in my view.

    Yup, Ima flashaholic.

My circle of lights I actually use and play with is pretty small by flashaholic terms. But most if not all of them have CRI of 80 or above.

McGizmo 3s XP-G2 Haiku, Prometheus readymade Alpha 4500K MCE and Alpha custom 4000K MCE, Cool Fall Spy 007 XP-G2 2700K, a SureFire 6P with the stock incandescent, Muyshondt Beagle 4000K, LensLight KO, Prometheus Beta QR on the keychain, love the new spectrum series MagLite Solitaire, an incandescent AA MiniMag and a 2 D Mag.

There's other stuff I own, but that's what I really use.

Special shout out to the Prometheus Lights Alpha ReadyMade. It's CRI is "only" 82, and the 4500K tint is a bit cooler than my usual preference for 4000K and below. But somewhat surprisingly, the slightly pinkish/magenta beam is unlike any other I've seen anywhere else and is quite pleasant.
Also to the flood emitters on the Muyshondt Beagle are sweet sweet sweet. The central emitter on the Beagle not so much.
And another shout out to the Spectrum Maglite Solitaire. I will be getting a spectrum 2AAA MiniMag and a spectrum XL50.

I take your point, but the 90 CRI, 4000K Cree XHP50 in the Malkoff Wildcat is superb. No Cree rainbow on this one.

Have you used a Nichia 219B? I think that's what's in the Beta QR. They're known for being slightly pink. The sw45k version is significantly pink, but hasn't been used in a production light that I know of.
