Hi

I am considering buying a Goal Zero Sherpa 5o as a Powerbank.

The only thing that stops is that it does not "support" Apple's MacBookPro.

The Sherpa 50's laptop port has a : Output 19V, up to 5A (100W max), regulated

My MacBook Pro 13" is rated 16,5v, 3,65A max

Is there any way that I can modify the unit to fit my MacBook?

My understanding is that your laptop will take or "ask for" what it needs. It's a bigger problem if the Sherpa could not output as much voltage and current as your Macbook needs because it would mean slower or no charging.

Hi

The Sherpa 50's laptop port has a : Output 19V, up to 5A (100W max), regulated so that should cover/be enough power to charge a MacBook Pro.

On eBay you can buy a "Mag Safe 2 Cable Cord" from HyperJuice that has the correct interface to the Sherpa 50.

BUT the output voltage from the Sherpa 50 is a little to high.

I see som talk about adding diodes to reduce the voltage. Any
thoughts on that?

That's my understanding too.

My only concern is that the output voltage on the Sherpa 50 is to high.

There are som talking "on the net" one way is to add diodes as a voltage divider. Heat is also a concern when adding diodes (or resistors).
