Bought this(whatever it is) at a garage sale earlier this year and haven't been able to figure out what it is. I bought it because I thought it was pretty cool and looked old.

Obviously, it's a light of some sort. :)

I'm guessing it is some sort of inspection light, but it could just be a regular light. The separate battery case is probably due to the need to have a larger battery like maybe a 12v battery that is too large to be made part of a consolidated case. I lean towards the inspection light idea because by having the battery pack separate it could be worn on the belt of over the shoulder, with the light on its cable able to be much more flexible to use. But this is all just a guess.

Delta Electric specialized in industrial lights back in the day. Mainly lanterns and search n rescue type.

The purpose of that one? I dunno, but my guess is for something industrial or military. Now folks may have used them for racoon hunting or looking for a missing child. Perhaps spotting buoys and inspection sink holes or caves.....
