My my - what lovely weather we have been having ( Not ) .
Perhaps time to start considering a Spring meet , especially since it takes a while ..

Wow ! , as always waiting .. This time on pliers .
KD stuffed up my emitter order , and had to try again - 2nd time around = success !

Must remember to do some mods and experiments ..

Yes , over time people come and go ..
And there are other things to do ..
Over the last few years numbers have dwindled ..
I guess flashlights might become a little , ho hum after a while ..
Though the new generation of higher voltage emitters are very interesting .
Just need the mod market to catch up with drivers ..

New work schedule (even though it's been more than a year) is hard. Rotating shifts are not kind and you can quickly lose track of time. I am not sure what direction Cree is heading since it was sold this month. I am into bicycles at the moment but still love them torches! What type of RCs are you into mate?

DLG can be relatively cheap , or very expensive ...

I have a UMX Whipit , which started this for me .. It can be had for about $100 less transmitter and is a great entry level glider .
The R3 in the video is a budget build Experiment . I wanted to see what could be done with 3mm Depron . ( The glider is mostly built from 3mm Depron - about $2 worth of it )
So at the moment I am contemplating a more high tech low cost build ( R4 ? ) .. But do I build another 1 meter or a smaller Micro DLG ? ( Problems - Problems )

Something like a UMX Whipit , is a great little glider for taking to the park ..

Nice stuff Matt. I used to fly RC myself, but unfortunately I an stuck with the old 36Mhz stuff. 2.4Ghz I assume you are using. The three Amigo's certainly look the part.
Mike.

yeah , 2.4 !

Modern radios are fantastic ...
I have a few !

But Taranis Q X7 , with a iRangeX Multi protocol module .... Really ticks all the boxes for me ! :twothumbs

Hmmmm ,
The wing kit might be about $30 AUs - Depends on the Greenback ..
Rx is about $10 AUs
Servos , maybe $6 AUs for two
ESC was under $10 AUs
The motor ? Maybe around $15 AUs

Just depends on the Exchange rate and if what I purchased was on special .
I think my investment at time of building was between $50 and $60 AUs
The transmitter is extra obviously ..

This project cost a little more because I was going for the weight ( Sub 100 grams )
If you cheap as ! You can save money ..
Wings can be very cheap to build ...
People have built flying wings from Pizza boxes !

Cheap !
ESC , maybe 7 to 8 dollars , same for a motor ..
So the ESC and motor for $15 AUs
$10 for a Rx , maybe $5 for servos
So $30 AUs for electrics ..
And then make the wing from ???? Pizza Box ( Video on Youtube ) Depron ( Youtube ) Ceiling tiles , almost anything light enough ..
I am about to start a Micro Wing , built from about $1 worth of 3mm Depron ...
I have the electronics already , just need to build the wing ..

The wing in the video is 600mm , this new one , plan is maybe 400mm and much lighter again .. ( Sub 50 grams )

Banggood for stuffings .. Ebay also .. Sometimes BG has the better price , other times Feebay .

You can build to Price , or performance .
I have a 120 gram wing that has a quad motor , and it has a 2 to 1 power to weight ratio - Should be a rocket ship !
