I almost didn't pull the trigger, now so glad I did. Obviously, I own two, both 219c.
Great UI. I absolutely heart this UI. I like being able go directly from Off to either Moonlight, Last memory setting, or Turbo via a short, long, or double press... really very well done, never lose that! About the moonlight...I set mine to the lowest, true one Lumen setting. It really is that low. Many others say it, but you know it isn't true.
Something which could improve? Sure, the button is difficult to feel in the dark so raise it. I always do a head lockout to avoid accidental turn-on especially considering that it's and electronic switch, so a raised button would be great, and/or put a mild crenulated ring around the button. You could also add a breathing light since it already has the charge lights in the button, I'd really like to see the light :O for battery level. This also would serve to remind someone that it's not in a head-lockout if the breathing light is on.
The output of this 219c is just the best. I think having it sit inside the bare, copper head just adds to it. Looks like a million bucks. Such a perfect tint.
The dual 18350/18650 tube is a perfect solution to the accessory tubes from the first E14.
An IMR 18650 is noticeably brighter than an IMR 18350 in this torch. This is interesting because one of the things I think is off-putting are the comments about the heat. The 18650 head gets hotter quicker than the 18350. Both are IMR. I understood this to be the opposite from what I had read but the 18350 is much less hot. I can still hold the head well after the 18650 is too hot. Now, in either configuration, I didn't find the button difficult to press at all. I've had P60 hosts just as warm. Really it's not a problem at all.
The onboard charging option is great that it's hidden so keep that. No rubber covers please!
Manker: Can you give any insight on an E14 vIII? Continuous variable ramping? If you keep the button on the head, which I really like, holding it long term for ramping may then cook a few fat fingers. And is more output even possible [emoji6]
