I have a few of the newer zebralights and I want to know which battery to run. I already own both of these batteries listed, so I know they both work and it's not a matter of which one is a better buy as they are the same price. They have the same exact length and both work in the zebralight bodies. I am having a hard time finding info on each cell and their chemistry. I see the capacity is different - 3000 vs 3500 mah but tests I saw were showing the 3000 mah batteries were actually a little under rated, and the 3500 mah battery may be slightly over rated?

I am only concerned with these two exact cells, as they are the perfect length for a zebralight sc600. Anything longer will not fit, shorter will rattle.

My main concern is safety. What is the chemistry difference between these two, which one is safer? Are they both very safe? I used to run an AW IMR 3000 MAH battery which I know is a safe chemistry, but I can't find them anymore.

Zebralight sales page includes both of these

When I measured run-time on the highest regulated modes of my SC600's, I get 13% longer run time with the Sanyo GA cell, compared to the Sony VTC6. However, that's only moderate drain. At maximum output, I'm guessing the run times may be a bit closer, though I still expect the GA to win. You can't really run on maximum without PID stepping down the light, so IMO that's not really an issue.

They're both great cells, and safe. As with all modern cells, they're a hybrid mix, not just cobalt which is less safe.
