This is the only 17670 ACME threaded HDS made as far as I know. It was a prototype and is in basically new condition. It is a clicky and has the sought after 120 XP-G 3700K emitter and orange peel reflector. As you can see it has the earlier black ano bezel that is able to be replaced by Henry if you want to but I liked it...comes with Prometheus Designs Clip (not shown) as well as the stock black clip shown.

$250 Shipped

SOLD

Wow nice! Do you know the history behind this? Was HDS going to make 18650 and 17670's

Oh dear, my trigger finger is itching so badly. Do you know if 2 primary 123's are safe in this light? 6volts in?

I don't remember the exact story. Some of the regular HDS guys will remember as well as Hogo. I believe I bought it from KidP. As I recall they made a 17670 for the Ra lights at one point and this proto was made maybe 3.5 years ago around the time they were working on the ACME threaded 18650 tubes. I believe the battery size was so close and 18650 was a more "typical" battery size so they went that way. Hence this was the only one of these made.

As Arch said. NO goes poof....

Much thanks brother.

Thanks. I'm looking forward to this. I can't wait to see the tint on this one. Hopefully my 16650 cell fit. Any thoughts on using a primary cr123a with a dummy cell?

I'm sure you can run a 16340 with a dummy cell with reduced runtime. That's what I use sometimes in my twisty. Not sure if 3 volts will give you full output.

If it's like any other HDS it will run on a single Primary. You just need to do a soft reset, otherwise the LPV will kick in. Remove head for 60 secs or turn light on and remove head. The light will illuminate at a low level for about 10 seconds to indicate the reset.

Arrived as described. 16650 cell fit. I love it. For 120 lumens it's got surprisingly good throw. Tint is amazing too. This one will be getting a lot of use. Thanks!
