Been waiting for my convoy C8+ to arrive for over a month now. Earlier this year I picked up their s2+ in sand ano off Ali and was so pleased I put an order in for this one. XPL hi u4-7a with the biscotti firmware. Beautiful tint with a nice, even and tight beam. Threads and anodizing on both lights are flawless. Nice heavy duty construction. These are definitely the nicest budget lights I've seen (although my couple of Jaxman are nice too).
Interestingly, the C2+ functions very well off a single cr123 primary with the appropriate body tube. Not sure what type of runtime I'll see but it will output at the 100% mode on the 8x7135 board and cycles through all modes.
Also interestingly, the C8+ is significantly warmer with better color rendition and a more even chromatic be pattern than the s2+ with what is supposed to be a xpl hi u6-3a. The S2+ almost feels like a cool white with a pronounced coolness to the center and some color around the corona and spill... might have to find a whitewall to demonstrate.
